Happy New Year!
2020 may not be the perfect year for all of us because of so many uncertainties but we all can learn from this pandemic. That is to care for one another and to pay more attention to our health and well-being. God has a purpose and plan for us, and I’m sure we all got closer to Him at one point. May this new year bring you peace, joy and HOPE knowing that Emmanuel has always been with us!
Wishing you all a very, merry Happy New Year!

Feast of The Holy Family of Jesus Mary & Joseph – Today the Church celebrates the Feast of the Holy Family. This celebration is assigned to the Sunday within the octave of Christmas. The Gospel for today is taken from the Gospel according to Luke and is part of Luke’s Infancy Narrative.
This Gospel describes the presentation of the child Jesus in the Temple and shows Joseph and Mary as devout Jews, following the prescriptions of the Law of Moses. The Gospel alludes to several aspects of the Law of Moses: circumcision, the dedication of the firstborn son to the Lord, and the purification of a woman after childbirth.
In Jerusalem, Luke reports that Mary and Joseph encounter two devout Jews, Simeon and Anna, who recognize the infant Jesus as the fulfillment of Israel’s hope for redemption. In Simeon’s words we find a prediction of Mary’s witnessing of Jesus’ death on the cross. The Canticle of Simeon, also called by its Latin name, Nunc Dimitis, is prayed at night prayer, or compline, during the Liturgy of the Hours.
The Feast of the Holy Family marks a time to honor Mary, Joseph and Jesus. It is also an occasion to consider the holiness inherent in domestic church. Jesus was born into a family who nurtured, protected, taught, and raised him to adulthood. Mary and Joseph are there to model what it means to live by faith and trust in God through difficult times. They journeyed through tough terrain to avoid the persecution of their baby, Jesus Christ, and protect him. Similarly, we place our faith in God to journey with us as we navigate this pandemic and nurture our spirituality and well-being. Amen
Luke 2:22-40
If you can attend Mass in person and you are longing for Him in the Eucharist,
then He wants to see you.
Come to Mass this Sunday and be transformed by His Word and by the Eucharist.
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give,
Not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians 9:7
