Hey. All for the month of November I’ll be putting up an article on Tuesdays. They will be centered around the spirit of THANKSGIVING. It’s not just about being thankful but also for how others can be thankful because of you…. Because you are doing GOD’s work and GOD works through each and every one of us! So let #GivingTuesday commence!

So this Tuesday is about giving yourself to the parish. Giving to the parish is not just about giving into the collection basket. Remember the parish is our family where we all gather on Sundays to worship the Lord together. Just throwing money into the collection basket is not enough. So how else can you give to your parish family? Let’s start with your time. You could volunteer more regularly to the activities of our youth/young adult ministry whether it be in fund raising or helping out in MASS. We could always use more help as far as ushers, or as altar servers (there is no shame in being an adult altar server!), in choir, and especially as a minister for the Eucharist and blood of Christ! Take a good look at your self. You may have a special talent that can be applied to any of these important functions of mass. Or maybe you have a talent for being very organized. I know the Life Teen office can use some organizing! In any case, how you decide to give back to parish community has a visible impact on our parish community no matter how big or small you think your talent is. To quote St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta: “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love”. So whatever you do for the parish for the community to be thankful just do it with your heart. With the heart that loves GOD back.
